Cajun Prairie Habitat Preservation Society Meeting

A project to restore a ten-acre plot of Cajun Prairie began in 1988 in Eunice, LA. Volunteers used only local seeds and plugs collected from nearby remnants, so this prairie is as can as can be. Join the Cajun Prairie Habitat Society for the fall tour of restored prairies & remnants in the area.

There will also be a presentation by Eric Vanbergen of the Cajun Prairie Club at the Ascension Episcopal School in Youngsville, LA. He will share his story of the wildflower project at the episcopal school. In addition, Justin Fuselier will attend and share what he has done in attempting to control invasives in his prairie seed plot. See times and directions for specific events below.

New to the preservation meeting is a native plant and prairie seed auction!
