Every Woman is a two-month-long celebration for and by women featuring a series of cultural events. The series focuses on art, spirituality, and social activities and invites men, women, and children to join in. Most activities take place at NUNU Arts & Culture Collective, an educational non-profit and arts incubator in Arnaudville, Louisiana. The collective advocates for Louisiana French education and hosts numerous events throughout the year in both French and English.

In the mid 20th Century the town was even known as the Yam Capital of the World. Lakeview Park & Beach is known to throw an amazing party whether it be Mardi Gras, Black Pot Camp, or one of their Saturday night Old Fashioned Fais Do-Do barn dances. This rustic barn is the perfect setting foot-stompin', two-steppin' Cajun dancing and music. Acadian’s best performers are known to frequent the barn stage, including Grammy-nominated band, Bonsoir Catin. So come out and pass a good time with the locals. During summer months also enjoy live music on the beach. 

Campers receive four free armbands for the beach and two free tickets to the Barn dance. Non-campers can purchase a day pass armband for $10 on weekends, $7 on weekdays, and $5 on Tuesdays that allows you access to the beach, beach playground, fishing lake, and any beach entertainment.

Bring your dancing shoes to the Liberty Theatre's "Rendez-vous des Cajuns," a live radio show in the Grand Old Opry/Louisiana Hayride/Prairie Home Companion format. The show takes place every Saturday in Eunice, home to some of Louisiana's most popular Cajun music artists and the Cajun French Music Hall of Fame Museum. In fact, the show's emcee will even host each program in Cajun French with just enough English spoken, so that everyone can enjoy the history and stories behind the music and lyrics. Today's Cajun and Creole artists have their own original music but many also continue to play the traditional French songs they grew up hearing from fiddle and accordion masters. This event is a "must see" for Louisiana music fans.

The Savoy Music Center Jam Session is a special Saturday morning tradition hosted at the Savoy Music Center, home of the master accordion craftsman, Marc Savoy. Marc Savoy's Cajun Jam Session has created such a buzz over the years that the three-hour event has gotten the attention of major media outlets such as Good Morning America, National Geographic, and Smithsonian Magazine. The jam has also attracted visitors from all over the world who are fascinated by Cajun music, and eager to meet the musicians. The jam's notoriety partly has to do with Marc Savoy's jam session etiquette. The jam is not a place for the younger artists to "show-off" but instead to be led by the older generation of Cajun music fiddlers and accordionists. It's not a talent show, but instead a cultural exchange of stories, tunes, tips, and few laughs. 

Don't know how to play? That's just fine. Chairs are set up for the audience to sit and listen or get up and dance!

The Prairie Acadian Cultural Center in Eunice, LA is one of six interpretive sites available through the Jean Lafitte National Park & Preserve. The interpretive center in Eunice focuses on sharing the history and cultural traditions of the Prairie Acadians, French-speaking farmers who settled in and around the Eunice area. The center's Saturday program showcases the uniqueness of the area through a Cajun French lesson, quilting demonstration, live music, and a special Cajun cooking class in the demo kitchen.

Sunday's aren't just for confession in South Louisiana! Every first Sunday of the month Tom's Fiddle & Bow in Arnaudville host a casual jam session for experienced and beginner musicians. Those who don't play are welcome to listen in and meet the artists. 

Tom's Fiddle and Bow is a repair and restoration shop for string instruments in Arnaudville, Louisiana. Tom specializes in making fiddles, or if you prefer, violins, and sells his handmade instruments in the shop. Tom is a native of Massachusetts but lived in New Hampshire and Maine for many years before relocating to southern Louisiana. He has studied at the Violin Craftsmen Institute at the University of New Hampshire and has trained with master craftsmen.

A Sunday afternoon at Bayou Teche Brewing is a great way to meet the locals. Each week the brewery hosts a front porch jam session, a French table, and a friendly game of Bourré. Bourré is a popular card game in South Louisiana. It's a trick-taking game, similar to Spades. If you don't know how the play, the locals will be happy to show you and even teach you a few new phrases at the French table. Local Cajun and Creole musicians often take a Sunday break to participate in the jam, a very casual gathering open to anyone with an instrument.

All you need is one hour with an instructor to learn a few moves, then you're ready for live concerts at local festivals or zydeco dance halls.
