Bayou Bird Fest
March 28 @ 6:00 am - 11:30 am
In commemoration of the town of Washington‘s 300-year celebration, join us for a tour of Bayou Courtableau. Washington and the nearby Wildlife Management Area, Thistlethwaite, contain a diverse range of wildlife including over 200 species of birds. Experts from the Louisiana Ornithological Society will lead the way showing you how the pros do it.
Thistlethwaite requires a $5.00 Wilderness Stamp to be purchased in advance (or a hunting or fishing license will do). They can be purchased at Walmart, Academy, or online at la.web.53licensing.com. The tour itself is $45, which includes a light breakfast and speaker presentation after the tour. These can be purchased at Ardoin’s Grocery in Washington or Sebastien Dupre Fine Jewelry in Opelousas.
