Le Cercle de Tambour (Drum Circle) at NUNU
March 17 @ 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm
For a spiritual and social experience, participate in a community drum circle at NUNU Arts & Culture Collective in Arnaudville. Drum circles were made popular by counterculture groups in the 60’s and 70’s as a means of expression. Today, a community drum circle is still a social gathering where the music is completely improvised and open to self-expression. The drum circle at NUNU is open to all ages, 10 and up. You need only a percussion instrument and a little creativity. The sessions are one hour, and anyone under the age of 16 needs to be accompanied by an adult. The group leader is Clare Hernandez, and she invites all levels of drummers to join in. Some instruments will be provided.
This event takes place on the third Sunday of each month.
