Opelousas Farmers Market
March 21 @ 6:30 am - 9:30 am
Shop for local, home-grown produce at the Opelousas Farmers Market. Opelousas, Louisiana while known for its rich music history is also a major agricultural community. In the mid-20th century, the town was even known as the Yam Capital of the World. Today, you can still try an Opelousas sweet potato and even take home some collards and mustard greens, kale, carrots, honey, and squashes when in season.
The Opelousas Farmers Market is open throughout the year every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. In the spring and fall, local farmers gather in the evening for a special concert, Music & Market, featuring Cajun and zydeco music bands.
