Step Outside Day at Sherburne WMA

Spend the day in the great outdoors of Louisiana with the amazing eco-diversity of the Atchafalaya Basin learning skills that will make you and your child better stewards of nature. Whether you’re building a birdhouse and learning about the 200 species of birds found in the area, participating in the art of archery, or experiencing the waterways through paddling a canoe or a pontoon boat tour.
The event is sponsored by Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, and has many private partners and contributors.
Held at the Sherburne Wildlife Management Area headquarters on La. Hwy 975 three miles south of U.S. 190, on the east side of the Atchafalaya River levee.
No alcoholic beverages or glass containers will be allowed on the premises. The event is FREE and open to the public.
