Sharecropper’s Day
Sharecropper’s Day is a celebration taking place at the Creole Heritage Folklife Center in Opelousas that seeks to educate the public on the way so many lived during that time.
Come out for storytelling, a mini boucherie, and food and drinks sold at sharecropper’s prices. The day culminates with a Creole buggy wedding of Xavier and Millie Henry as well as Elton and India Sam. Wedding starts at 3pm.
Admission is free. No alcoholic beverages allowed.
