Steamboat Whistle Unveiling

On November 21st at 5:30pm, the town of Washington will unveil its newest attraction, a steamboat whistle which will sound out every day at 6pm. The whistle harkens back to the town’s history as one of the busiest steamboat landings in the region. At the event, there will be live music by Don Fontenot, tasting trays from local restaurants, and the lighting of Washington’s Christmas tree. The tree was made in conjunction with a lighting expert from Natchitoches famous Christmas festival.
