Visitors travel far and wide for Mr. Kermit Lejeune’s smoked meats. Lejeune’s Sausage Kitchen is a family-run smokehouse that has been making sausage in Eunice, Louisiana for over 38 years. The smokehouse sells about 3,000 lbs of sausage a week and will even ship to those fans who live out of state. The Lejeune’s also specialize in smoked ponce and tasso but are especially known for their smoked garlic sausage. The Lejeune family recipe is so renowned that Baton Rouge blogger and Food Network Star Season 11 finalist, Jay Ducote, had to see for himself the process of making Cajun-style smoked meats the traditional way.
