Russell’s Food Center is a great place to stock up Cajun food products and take home a taste of Louisiana. George Clifton Coles and his wife, Nora Castille Coles opened a small grocer in 1934 in Arnaudville, selling mostly sugar, rice, flour, and some canned goods. Five generations later it’s still a family run grocery store that also offers boudin, plate lunches, and even catering for special events. The bakery offers a wide selection of fresh bread, daily including their brag-worthy olive loaf and sausage jalapeno cheese bread. The meat department is just as enticing with homemade sausage, pork tasso, and even beef tongue. Interested in what’s on the plate lunch menu? You can visit for a list of weekly specials.
