There’s been a revival in activities along Corridor des Arts – a trail that travels through rural communities from Cecilia to Sunset, Louisiana. Over the last decade, artists have settled into these communities and shaped the heart of every main street and downtown area through creativity and social events similar to the new art walk in Sunset. Through partnerships, the artists of Sunset host a semi-monthly event that celebrates the local arts community, the Uncorked Art Walk.

During this evening social, you can visit participating galleries to find paintings, sculptures, handcrafted items and other unique works of art. Each stop also offers wine and hors d’ oeuvres, compliments of Café Josephine. Other participating businesses include Artworks by Ted Bertrand, Boho, The Funky Flea, and Jerilyn’s Fused Glass Art Gallery.

Sunset’s first art walk took place on October 5th, 2018 and after much success, the organizers have agreed to continue hosting this event every other month from 6pm to 9pm. The last art walk for 2018 is scheduled for December 7, the perfect time to shop for Christmas gifts! 2019 events will take place on February 1, April 5, June 7, August 2, October 4, and December 6.

This event takes place in conjunction with a monthly open house at Artworks by Ted Bertrand. Ted’s open house features a different local artist each month, on the first Friday. December’s spotlight artist is Margo Baker. Baker is a teacher, writer, and advocate for the arts community. As an artist, she is known for her corrugated tin paintings. Meet Margo and other area creatives at the next Uncorked Art Walk!
