Zydeco Unplugged

On August 16 from 11am-6pm, explore Le Vieux Village in Opelousas for Zydeco Unplugged, a day of learning and celebration of zydeco and the culture that surrounds it. Alex Genealogy will lead a presentation tracing the history of families from St. Landry Parish. CREOLE Inc will lead a French table in a historic schoolhouse. Underneath the pavilion, learn with Andre Thierry as he gives music lessons with the accordion, rubboard, drums and speaks on the history of some of zydeco’s greatest influences.
