Celebrate Spring in the Town of Grand Coteau at this Spring Fling event. From 10am-5pm on Saturday, May 17th at the Grand Coteau Park you can enjoy live music by Blue Monday All Stars and DJ Battlecat. This event is fun for the whole family with food trucks and drinks as well as fun jumps and bingo.

Fun jumps are $2 to play all day. Parking is $5. Vendors are welcome. For more information call 337-308-4025.

Washington Community Festival After Party

Head out for a night of fun at the Washington Community Festival After Party & Benefit 6pm-11pm. The event will be held at the beautiful Wolff Hall Weddings and Events, in historic Washington, Louisiana with live music by swamp pop king Gregg Martinez, delicious food, and plenty of drinks to keep the party going. Ticket proceeds benefit Healing House & American Legion.

It’s the perfect way to unwind and celebrate after a day of festivities at the festival. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to mingle with fellow community members and dance the night away. See you there!

It’s Mardi Gras season and Kayenne’s Bar & Grill is celebrating with live zydeco music. On Sunday, March 2nd, you can catch Chris Ardoin & Tha Nustep Krewe perform with activities for the whole family. Crawfish will be served all day.

Carrier Family Celebration

Celebrate the late Roy Carrier’s induction into the Louisiana Music Hall of Fame with the Carrier Family Celebration and fundraiser for Zydeco By Birth. On Saturday, April 26, 2025 from 1pm-5pm, head to the Yambilee Building in Opelousas, Louisiana you can see the Carrier Family members perform in his honor.

Performing at the event will be Andrew Carriere, Chubby Carrier, Troy “Dikki Du” Carrier, Deontae Carrier, Dwight Carrier, Laura ‘Zydeco T’ Carrier, and many more.

Joe Hall Memorial Concert & CD Release

On Saturday, February 8th at 6:30pm at NUNU Art & Culture Collective in Arnaudville you can enjoy a chicken dinner, film preview of “Who’s Playing My Box” featuring Joe Hall, followed by a live concert and CD release with Cedric Watson, Paul Lavan, Mark Palms and more special guests.

Legendary Creole and Zydeco accordionist and vocalist Joe Hall passed away suddenly on November 21, 2024. He and his band the Cane Cutters kept alive the French Creole musical tradition that he learned directly from creators Bois Sec Ardoin and Nolton Simien. Come celebrate his life and memory with food, film, and music.

“Who’s Playing My Box” is a documentary supported in part by a project grant from the Office of the Lt Governor Office of Cultural Development, Division of the Arts with funding from the NEA and administered by the Acadiana Center for the Arts & New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Foundation.

Chicken dinner is free; $10 admission for the concert.

Silver Slipper Jam

The Silver Slipper, a regional music history landmark in Leonville, Louisiana, hosts a weekly open jam session on Thursday evenings. Caleb Elliott and Jordan Allen Dean at NUNU

Natchitoches native Caleb Elliott spent many years creating and performing around Lafayette before moving on to the Muscle Shoals music scene. Most recently Elliott performed at the Acadiana Center for the Arts with Nashville recording artists the Secret Sisters. He returns to the area on Wednesday September 25 to open the fall season at the intimate listening room at NUNU Art & Culture Collective in Arnaudville. With him will be Muscle Shoals performing artist Jordan Allen Dean.

Boo! Bash at NUNU

On Saturday, October 26 from 7pm-11pm help the NUNU Arts and Culture Collective in Arnaudville cool off with their “Cool the Culture Campaign.” NUNU, a vibrant, all-volunteer-powered non-profit organization celebrating a banner year of rich experiences, aims to raise $50,000 by June 1, 2025, to install long needed air-conditioning and insulation to preserve art, artists, and patrons in these sultry climes.

At the Boo! Bash Fundraiser, Bonsoir Catin with Christine Balfa & Friends (followed by DJ Shane Guidry) will be performing. You can also enjoy food, drinks, costume contest, auctions, and dancing for a worthy cause
