Holiday Fête in Opelousas
This holiday season, the historic Courthouse Square will come alive under the oaks for the Holiday Fête on the Courthouse Square, a free, family-friendly celebration rooted in the culture, community, and spirituality of Opelousas and St. Landry Parish.
Presented by St. Landry Parish Government and Opelousas Main Street, the Fête will draw from the many traditions that shape life in Opelousas and St. Landry Parish—Creole and Cajun culture, Zydeco music, our agricultural and equestrian heritage, local foodways, and the spices and flavors for which the area is known.
The afternoon will bring these influences together through live music and local performers, local food, a market of local vendors and makers, children’s activities, community activities, photos with Santa, train rides, and a holiday sing-along at the Courthouse steps. At dusk, the Fête will feature the lighting of the historic Nativity, carrying forward a cherished Courthouse Square holiday tradition.
More than a holiday event, the Fête invites you to gather downtown, support local businesses and entrepreneurs, reconnect with neighbors and friends, and celebrate who we are, what we share, and what brings us together.
