Soileau’s Dinner Club is a family-owned and operated, second and third-generation restaurant in Opelousas, Louisiana. In 1937, Clarence Soileau opened the diner, and since then the restaurant has created many memories for locals and travels. Back then, the popular menu item was a barbecue dinner for 35 cents, but today, diners can enjoy Cajun and Creole favorites such as seafood gumbo, red snapper, or Catfish Opelousas. Sebastien’s West End is a family-owned, second-generation seafood market in Opelousas, Louisiana. The owner, Sharon Sebastien, has been in the family business for over 20 years. She has a good relationship with the local fishermen and carries a large variety of fresh, wild-caught seafood. Their normal stock includes catfish, garfish, gulf coast shrimp, crabs, snapping turtle, and frog legs – ingredients that make a good court bouillon, etouffée, or gumbo. Their friendly staff can also provide recipe ideas and general information about each item in the case.
