Looking for just a bite to eat, or as we’d call it goûter (to taste)? Try one of Chef Nancy’s pastries at the Kitchen Shop in Grand Coteau, Louisiana. Her Cajun sweet dough pies make a delightful snack while you’re shopping. Nancy Brewer is a professionally trained pastry chef, but still uses Grandma Doucet’s recipes for pies. Nancy also bakes her specialty, gateau na-na, which is a pecan tart sold whole or by the slice. Her other specialties include buttery scones and decadent chocolate cookies, all made on site in the shop.
