The Chapel at Le Vieux Village

Today, this charming chapel is an intimate venue for brides and a unique space for meetings and other events. The venue can accommodate up to 150 guests and has a stage and dressing area.
The chapel is located at Le Vieux Village Heritage Park in Opelousas, Louisiana. The park features 18th and 19th-century homes and offers tours during hours of operation. During the holiday season, the church is illuminated with dozens of gorgeous Christmas lights and makes a beautiful location for a destination wedding. Whiteville Historic Schoolhouse

This schoolhouse building is one of only a few of its kind remaining in Louisiana and you can tour it at Le Vieux Village Heritage Park in Opelousas, Louisiana. You can also rent the schoolhouse for meetings and private events.
The park is a village featuring historic structures from Opelousas, such as a doctor’s office from the 1890’s and the Mary Jane Train Engine. Tours are available during the parks hours of operation. For more information about booking the Whiteville Schoolhouse, contact the Opelousas Tourism office.

Yambilee Buidling

Multiple zydeco and Cajun musicians have performed on the Yambilee stage. The auditorium is also an excellent venue for cook-offs, festivals, weddings, reunions, and other special events. The Yambilee ag-arena can also be used for outdoor events and trail rides.

Historic St. John’s Episcopal Church

The Washington Garden Club acquired the property and did a beautiful and historically accurate restoration. St. John’s is still ornate with the original pews, bell tower, and even updated with period lighting. The site was even used for the filing of The Free State of Jones starring Matthew McConaughey.
Brides looking for a venue with a vintage feel can tie the knot at St. John’s. Amenities include a dressing area, a stage, and a full kitchen. The church can also be rented for social and other private functions.
