Farmers Market Pavilion

Farmers Market Pavilion is a large spacious covered pavilion. It is located at the gateway of historic Opelousas and is often a gathering place for zydeco concerts, community events, reunions, dance lessons, and recreational activities. The pavilion also features artwork and fans to keep visitors cool during the summer months. It’s the perfect spot for family reunions and is located next to Le Vieux Village Heritage Park. The park is only steps away and offers tours throughout the week.

The Chapel at Le Vieux Village

The Chapel at Le Vieux Village was built in 1948. Formerly, the chapel served the African-American community as St. Joseph’s Methodist Church. Today, this charming chapel is an intimate venue for brides and a unique space for meetings and other events. The venue can accommodate up to 150 guests and has a stage and dressing area.

The chapel is located at Le Vieux Village Heritage Park in Opelousas, Louisiana. The park features 18th and 19th-century homes and offers tours during hours of operation. During the holiday season, the church is illuminated with dozens of gorgeous Christmas lights and makes a beautiful location for a destination wedding. The Yambilee Building in Opelousas, Louisiana has been the host of family fun for many years. Multiple zydeco and Cajun musicians have performed on the Yambilee stage. Historic St. John’s Episcopal Church

St. John’s Church was built in 1874 as an Episcopal church. Today, it still stands in Washington and is even listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The Washington Garden Club acquired the property and did a beautiful and historically accurate restoration. St. John’s is still ornate with the original pews, bell tower, and even updated with period lighting. The site was even used for the filing of The Free State of Jones starring Matthew McConaughey.

Brides looking for a venue with a vintage feel can tie the knot at St. John’s. Amenities include a dressing area, a stage, and a full kitchen. The church can also be rented for social and other private functions.

Cypress Grove

Cypress Grove in Eunice is a charming wedding venue that features a stunning new open-air chapel. With 14-foot stained glass windows and a functioning bell tower that houses a restored bell from the 1800s, newlyweds can take part in the unique tradition of ringing the bell upon exiting the ceremony allowing the chimes to blow the crowd away and leave a lasting memory.

The reception space itself is a historic general store that was built in 1886 and moved to the property in the ’90s. The store is historically known as the Chapelle Store, one of the last attempted robberies of Bonnie & Clyde in 1934.

Cypress Grove has been in operation for over 8 years with 350+ weddings that have taken place onsite. They specialize in more intimate weddings with crowds of less than 150 guests.
