Ever More Nest with Bret Vidrine at NUNU’s

Ever More Nest is the Americana music project of Kelcy Mae Wilburn, a New Orleans-based musician and writer, bandleader, queer woman, Pisces, and modern-day transcendentalist. Ever More Nest tours the US, playing festivals such as the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival and Milwaukee’s Summerfest in addition to venues and listening rooms ranging from quaint bar rooms to the John F. Kennedy Center. Prior to embodying alt-country outfit Ever More Nest, Kelcy Mae released three earlier folk/rock albums.

Kelcy will be performing at NUNU’s Art & Culture Collective in Arnaudville on August 18th at 7:30pm. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased here.

The Gospel According To Jones

Freddie Pate was raised on music, from his Grandma bringing home bands from the nightclubs she frequented, to his first performances at 7 and 8 all around Los Angeles. He’s learned from Al Bruno and played opening acts for George Jones and with Merle Haggard, Conway Twitty, Willie Nelson, Hank Jr., and pretty much every other major name in country music in the last five decades. He’s been voted TCMA Guitarist of the Year, Louisiana Guitar Legend, and received numerous CFMA awards as guitar player and producer.

Pate will be starring in “The Gospel According to Jones, A Tribute,” on August 6 at 6 p.m. This is a one-night-only tribute at the Delta Grand Theater in Opelousas. It’s going to be all of your favorite George Jones hits filled with the stories behind the songs, behind the scenes, and behind the greatest country singer of all time, George Jones! Freddie has shared the stage with George and with all the country music greats so he brings these songs and stories to life with personal experience.

Louisiana Farm Concert

On October 29th, head to La Casetta at the Farm in Melville, Louisiana for an unforgettable concert. Check out James McCann, Taylor McCann, and Northbound Drifters as they perform on the sprawling and secluded grounds of the hunting lodge turned event venue.

Opt in for the 1 hour tour to see their sugarcane, cattle, and grain operations from 4:30 pm – 5:30 pm. Immediately following will be the concert that’ll continue until 7:30 pm.

Heartland Tours’ is hosting this event as part of their Louisiana Farm Tour this fall. If you don’t want the full three-night tour of the agriculture industry in Louisiana, you can still have fun by hopping in at La Casetta on Saturday for the concert for only $30 per ticket. Summer Classic Car Show

On June 6th, head to downtown Eunice for the Spring into Summer Classic Car & Truck Show. This show will feature vehicles from 1985 and older as well as live music.  Catch food trucks and shop from local vendors in the town’s beautiful downtown area. Awards will be presented at 3pm in categories like Peoples Choice, Best of Show, Mayor’s Choice, and more.

Rayo Brothers at NUNU’s

Daniel and Jesse Reaux began performing as the Rayo Brothers in their hometown of Lafayette Louisiana. According to Offbeat Magazine, the brothers present “honest and insightful songwriting” against a backdrop of “impassioned folk-rock and modern alt-country with majestic, sweeping arrangements”. Featuring sibling harmonies and a variety of instrumentation, they put on a rollicking show that flows from raucous foot-stompers to intimate ballads to everywhere in between.

The Rayo Brothers will reunite for a night at NUNU Arts & Culture Collective on Friday night, April 26. The show starts at 7:30pm. Admission is $20.
