Visiting the Past

2024-08-23T15:14:07-05:00

Visit the past at one of the oldest towns in Louisiana’s historic cemetery, Cedar Hill Cemetery in WashingtonAfter the Yellow Fever epidemic of the 1850’s, additional space was needed for the people of Washington to bury their dead. This was how Cedar Hill Cemetery came to be. Both this cemetery and the town’s older one were for people who lived in the area without regard for creed or race.

People who attend this event on October 26th from 5:30pm-6:30pm can visit the past while walking through the beautiful grounds with a candle-lighting and choir performance.

Overall, the camp has a loose, festive atmosphere that encourages extracurricular jamming and sharing of experiences among campers from all places and backgrounds. If you’ve never tried to Cajun waltz or square dance, now is the time to take your cue from experienced instructors. All of the activities are in the spirit of fun! Create unforgettable memories with interactive experiences among other lovers of Cajun and roots music.
