Louisiana Farm Concert

On October 29th, head to La Casetta at the Farm in Melville, Louisiana for an unforgettable concert. Check out James McCann, Taylor McCann, and Northbound Drifters as they perform on the sprawling and secluded grounds of the hunting lodge turned event venue.

Opt in for the 1 hour tour to see their sugarcane, cattle, and grain operations from 4:30 pm – 5:30 pm. Immediately following will be the concert that’ll continue until 7:30 pm.

Heartland Tours’ is hosting this event as part of their Louisiana Farm Tour this fall. If you don’t want the full three-night tour of the agriculture industry in Louisiana, you can still have fun by hopping in at La Casetta on Saturday for the concert for only $30 per ticket. Louisiana Farm Tour 2022

Heartland Tours is an agritourism company that unites people to the land and each other through educational farm bus tours. Tours include seven farm tour options that span from one to three days with prices starting at $30. Double occupancy prices are also available. Summer Classic Car Show

On June 7th, head to downtown Eunice for the Spring into Summer Classic Car & Truck Show. This show will feature vehicles from 1985 and older as well as live music.  Catch food trucks and shop from local vendors in the town’s beautiful downtown area. Awards will be presented at 3pm in categories like Peoples Choice, Best of Show, Mayor’s Choice, and more.

Live at Riverview Resort

Rockin’ on the Runway

Rockin’ on the Runway is an annual aerobatic performance event in Sunset, Louisiana. Drive-in or fly-in to witness the stunning aerial maneuvers by talented flyers. Following the air show, you can drink and dance to live music.

At this family-friendly event, kids can enjoy airplane rides and fun activities. Take them around to check out the antique and suped-up cars on display at the car show.

Tickets are $20 on pre-sale or $25 on the day of. Children 12 and under get in free.

Clovis Crawfish’s Platinum Birthday

On April 9th at the Eunice Depot Museum in Downtown Eunice, Louisiana, beloved literary character, Clovis Crawfish, is celebrating his Platinum Birthday Party. Gather around the Clovis Crawfish Statue with Julie Fontenot Landry. She’s the daughter of the Cajun Country literary icon and creator of Clovis, Mary Alice Fontenot.

Visit the museum and learn about the history of this musical town. There’s a lot to see in the old train depot. You should stick around after the event. There’s so much to explore in downtown including shopping boutiques, restaurants, and more.

An Evening Under the Oaks

On April 22, enjoy an evening under the oaks in Opelousas, Louisiana. At the St. Landry Catholic Church behind the Church Rectory, you can see live music, eat boiled crawfish, and participate in a live auction.

Grab yourself a plate of boiled crawfish while you bid on fabulous items. At 8pm, Three Thirty Seven goes live on stage. They are famous for their wide range of styles with Acadiana influences.

You must be 18 years or over to enter. Admission is $50 and includes dinner, sides, and entry into the door prize raffle.

Fête de la Nature

Fête de la Nature is a celebration of Acadiana’s natural surroundings through art, music, food, and science. This event takes place at Atelier de la Nature in Arnaudville, Louisiana. Throughout the day, scientists will lead an open-to-the-public BioBlitz. At the BioBlitz, participants search for every species of bird, reptile, insect, plant and fungus living at the reserve.

A benefit lunch will be run by Chef Colt Patin of the Culinary Institute of Baton Rouge, his students, and Scouts Troop 174. Food will be sold at the event with proceeds will help fund Atelier de la Nature’s youth education programs. Crawfish will be $20 for 3lbs.

In the evening, we will screen the film “My Louisiana Love” with opening remarks and Q&A with co-producer and co-writer Monique Verdin. This screening is in commemoration of the 15 years since the Deepwater Horizon accident and the 20 years since Hurricane Katrina.

FREE registration is REQUIRED for all attendees. If you’d like to support Atelier de la Nature, a donation would be greaty appreciated. Suggested donation is $10.

There are six musicians in the raucous pop ensemble Sweet Crude, but their ultimate goal is duality. The lyrics are bilingual, with French and English lyrics sometimes sharing space in one song. As a gang of bodies in motion onstage, their clamor of percussion and shouts whips up the dance floor in contagious physical joy – but the tunes lend themselves as well to deep listening, revealing complex layers of both craft and content. Of course, there’s the band name itself: a reference to the petroleum export of Sweet Crude’s home state of Louisiana, an unintentionally poetic linking of two concepts operating in seeming opposition. And like the title of Sweet Crude’s latest album – Officiel//Artificiel – when everything comes together, the product is more than the sum of the parts.

Top of the Teche

The Top of the Teche is a 7.7-mile race for vehicles like kayaks, canoes, pirogues, and SUPs. It stretches from Leonville to Arnaudville, Louisiana. There are 15 classes for racers to choose from with competitors vying for trophies. Registration begins at the boat launch in Leonville with takeoff at 10am. Race ends at Myran’s Maison de Manger in Arnaudville.

This event is one of many that take place on Bayou Teche throughout the year. For a full schedule visit TourduTeche.com. Top of the Teche benefits the work of the Arnaudville Chamber of Commerce and the Leonville Volunteer Fire Department.

Paddling Bayou Teche is made possible by the efforts of the non-profit organization, TECHE Project. The TECHE Project began as a small, volunteer clean-up organization. Today, the group is responsible for the bayou’s designation as a National Paddle Trail by the U.S. Park Service and a National Water Trail by the U.S. Interior Department. The team has also added trailheads and floating docks to communities along the Teche featuring a water-proof map for canoers marking attractions, restaurants, and historic sites along the trail.
